Just the FAQs ma’am – Orlando

Written in US DESTINATIONS

It’s on everyone’s bucket list, but what’s the best and most efficient way to get the best value for money in Orlando? Go to Cheaprooms.com and find an excellent value Orlando package or hotel rooms from the more than 400 to choose from.

For the millions of visitors flocking to Orlando for its adventure parks, the most important thing to consider is convenient accommodation. Find cheap accommodation in Orlando now and use our guidelines to find accommodation that suits your destination.

Walt Disney World is the main draw card of course, and if you’re here for Disney, the first FAQ is: How long do I need to explore the parks? There are four main parks, and if you really push it you could do one a day. This is not recommended – try to spend at least seven days.

Should you stay on-property or off? This comes down to money – the Disney properties are very expensive in comparison to relatively close off-site properties. The difference is big so question whether it’s worth paying for the magic of the whole 24-hr experience, or whether you’re happy commuting in each day.

What are the don’t miss rides? Assuming all attendees are 48 inches and over, the rides you just have to do are: Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean. At Epcot, Soarin’ and Test Track great, but Mission:Space is worth it if you have time. In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the goodies are Tower of Terror, Toy Story Midway Mania, Rock ‘n Roller Coaster, and Star Tours. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you must see Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safari.

Should I use FASTPASS? Yes, you’ll save lots of time, and on busy days it will impossible to do a ‘walk up’ to most rides. Disney are changing to a reservation system, so check before you leave which system will be operational for you. Either way, plan ahead.

The best things in life are free – around Orlando

Written in US DESTINATIONS

Packing up the family and heading to a theme park can be an expensive proposition… unless you know what to look for and where to find the best things in life – the FREE ones! Your journey starts with the best money-saver of them all – Cheaprooms.com has more than 400 hotels to choose from, and there are plenty of discount packages for Orlando to suit every budget and every size family.

Orlando is a vacationer’s heaven – everything is geared to make your life simple. From the on-ground transport options to the entertainment discount packages. Happily, the weather in Florida is good all year round, so you can enjoy the outdoor attractions – free and otherwise – without care. For cheap accommodation in Orlando all you need to do is select a hotel from the hundreds that are available and get ready to enjoy the best of the sun state.

We’ll take it as read that you’re all about the theme parks when in Orlando. But this is about those days when you’ve done it all, done your money and are just ready for a little free time… Got the kids with you? How about the Lego Imagination Center at Disney? It’s a huge area devoted to kids playing with Lego – and it’s free. If you’re in the Disney area and just need a break – this is your answer. Set the kids up and then relax as they move from playpen to Pick-a-Brick wall.

Sticking with Disney for the time being, how about some free entertainment with Chip ‘n’ Dale at the Disney World Fort Wilderness Campground? They supply the marshmallows, the fire and the cartoon characters – you supply the kids and the laughter. Then settle in for a free movie showing on the outdoor screen. Lay out a blanket or BYO camp chairs and just kick back.

Festivals and events are pretty much a year-round thing in Orlando because of the weather. Take advantage and enjoy a free event in Orlando courtesy of the local community. There are concerts and outdoor theater, bike rides and nature attractions. Check the calendar and work out the events happening during your stay.

After you’ve spent a day on site, the last thing you probably need is more Disney… but, trust us, the entertainment in the Disney Boardwalk is first rate. It’s a quarter mile of dining, entertainment and shopping and there are street performers, food vendors and lots of live – and free – entertainment every night. The Boardwalk area is supposed to emulate the classic boardwalks of old – family entertainment areas with a retro feel.

See what a little practice can do for you…

Planning your trip to Orlando

Written in US DESTINATIONS

It’s the highlight of the year – maybe a lifetime – for some families, so getting it right in Orlando is crucial. From the vacation all-in-one deal you get, courtesy of cheap hotel deals on Cheap Rooms for Orlando to the discount room you enjoy in Orlando, making sure you make the most of your visit to Orlando is all about the planning.

Put some thought in now about the best attractions to visit in Orlando and then plan your hotel around a central location. The good news is Cheap Rooms discount Orlando hotel rooms are in all the best locations so you don’t have to worry about paying a fortune for a good base of operations.

An important factor in enjoying your visit is the weather. If you’re coming between March and October the answer to what to pack for my Orlando vacation is easy. Sunscreen and an umbrella. But don’t panic, the rain is semi-tropical – a short thunderstorm mostly, which won’t ruin your day. The sky clears quickly leaving a beautiful evening. Second most important thing is good footwear. You’re on your feet and it can get hot so light sneakers are the go. Plan to layer your clothing; a light t-shirt for the day with a sweatshirt and maybe a light jacket for the evening.

The other question is where to stay in Orlando? This depends on where you’ll spend the most time. If you’re intent on just Walt Disney World®, then you can stay onsite or in nearby Lake Buena Vista and Kissimmee, Fla., that are within 10 minutes of Walt Disney World®. The onsite properties are luxurious and offer benefits like free transfers, as well as being close to the action day and night. The off site properties are not far and are better priced. If your preference is either Sea World or the Universal Orlando Resort, you can stay onsite at both or in one of the many hotels located on International Drive in Orlando. This is a tourist mecca with every taste and budget catered for.

Think about organizing your tickets before you get here. Companies like these guys can organize your Orlando tickets in advance. It does save money but you have to be the well-planned sort who doesn’t alter plans easily. This will also help you work out your budget and how best to cater for all members of the family.

Talking of saving money, eating out is going to be a big part of the cost so take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan which offers discounts and various child-friendly options. It limits you to Disney, but you will save money. Plenty of restaurants along International Drive do have a kids-eat-free or half price policy.
