From fall until just before the Christmas holiday is an excellent time of year to vacation in Orlando for many reasons. For one thing, there are fewer crowds, and as an off-season prices on airfare and hotels are traditionally lower. Although temperatures are generally in the 90’s in September, gradually they decline to the 70’s by Christmas. You do need to keep in mind that Christmas is a very busy time in Orlando and the major attractions, so if that’s your vacation goal, plan ahead.

Besides all the popular attractions like Epcot and Universal that will surly keep you busy, fall/winter brings some excellent other events that might interest you.

One very popular event within Epcot is the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival that runs between September 14-November 14, 2016. We will start by giving you advance warning, it’s not a cheap escape, but well worth the $97 ticket price for the all day event.

Lets begin with your ability to taste and sip your way around the world, with booths serving wine and country specialties from places like Australia, Belgium, Italy, New Zealand, and many more. And the name doesn’t reflect all the adult possibilities here either, because beer drinkers have been heard, and you can sip hops from around the world. Check out the Brewer’s Collection, providing flight of German beers from wheat beers to Pilsners. After you have munched your way around the world, finish with a visit to the dessert and champagne area for maybe a taste of Dom Pérignon or cherry cola float?

Another awesome reason people enjoy this event besides the food and wine is the entertainment, including some top music stars. Enjoy sipping and munching while enjoying evening tunes by groups like Air Supply, Wilson Phillips, 38 Special and Boyz II Men. These are just a few of the rotating concerts available for your listening pleasures.

From cooking demonstrations by some of the top chef’s in the world, to an International Marketplace beyond compare, you will be entertained.

Not to be left out of the big lights, Universal Orlando has their own special fall event for you, if you have the courage. The Halloween Horror Nights run on select nights between September 16-October 31, 2016.

Your visit to the streets of Universal this fall will put you smack in front of hordes of mutants, maniacs and monsters. Haunted houses supply chilling experiences with characters from The Exorcist, American Horror Story, Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween. We don’t think you will find this level of fright anywhere else in the world, with the exception of maybe Transylvania.

How many of us have enjoyed the Thanksgiving Macy’s Day Parade, and wished you could be there?  Did you know that the parade floats actually are transported to Universal Studios Florida after the parade?

If you are lucky enough to be on vacation in Orlando between December 3-18th, 2016, you can experience all those fantastic floats in the parade at 5 PM each afternoon. And we aren’t just talking floats, but also clowns, marching bands and even Santa will be there for the kiddies, young and old.
